  1. Book 1: Winter Term at Malory Towers
    Author: Palma Cox

    This eye catching book is about a Third form class, that has lots of obstacles coming their way: there's a medaling teacher, rude new student, chatty new student and lots of fun pranks and twists! Every chapter I read was outstanding, I always wanted to read on and its definitely a recommendable book. I chose this book because I like reading drama and mystery.

    Book 2: Coraline
    Author: Neil Gaiman

    This scary,creepy yet amazing book, is based on a young girl (Coraline) who has moved into a new house where she discovers a door that leads to a new dangerous world. Although I have seen the movie, I think that the book is incredible.

    Book 3: A.N.T.I.D.O.T.E
    Author: Malory Blackman

    In this book, young Elliot knows that his Mum is just a boring secretary. However, his Mum and Uncle are caught breaking into a building. It is his task to prove the police wrong. I chose this book as I had gotten many good reviews on the book.

Nikki never gets what she wants because of Mackenzie. I have chosen this book because it is really funny and i can never stop reading it.

    My second book is Ice Lolly. I like this book because its about a cat and a girl called Lauren. Lauren had to move in with her aunt who doesn't like her cat called Mr Pooter. Lauren tries to make sure her aunt doesn't get rid of Mr Pooter. I chose this book because i love cats and Mr Pooter is very cheeky.

    My last book is The kitten nobody wanted. This book is sad because Sandy, Mias cat, dies. Then her friends cat has kittens and Mia likes one she called whiskers. She wants to take her home but shes not ready to move on. i like this book because its also about a cat and whiskers is described so well.

  5. Recently, I’ve read Private Peaceful by Michael Morphurgho- it is linked to the First World War. The issues in the book include how the characters cope with life in the war. I have chosen this book because it shows how a soldier would have to survive.

    I’m also reading the Hobbit by J.R Tolkien. This book is about a creature named Bilbo Baggins who is a Hobbit. These people have hairy feet and enjoy a comfortable life. Bilbo has another thing coming when he is sent on a quest to fight a monstrous dragon named Smaug. This is an adventure story. My favourite part is where Gandalf and all try to escape from the goblins. It shows a clear image in my head.

    I’ve also read Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K Rowling. The plot is that there is a place named the Chamber of Secrets where a monster lurks. Harry has been hearing a sly, threatening voice, while people are being paralysed.

  10. The book thief by Markus Zusak:
    This tragic story is set in Nazi Germany and follows the life of a young orphan girl named Liesel Meminger who has been adopted by the Hubermanns.It follows the journey of the girl as she steals books from the mayor and hides a Jewish fist fighter in her basement. This book is definitely a misery, due to the fact that death narrates it and that loads of people die. The saddest part the book is the end when Liesel comes out of the basement and realises that everyone is dead. I chose to read this book because a friend recommended it to me.
    P.S I plan to read this again.

    Suffragette the diary of Dollie Baxter:
    This book is the diary of a once poor girl named Dollie Baxter who, after living below the poverty line in Victorian Britain, is placed under the care of a woman named Lady Flora whom looks after her. Dollie then joins the Suffragettes and invites us on her adventures as a lady fighting for women's rights, from peaceful protesting to throwing rocks at the members of parliaments cars. I chose this hooking book from the library because I thought it would be nice to vary the types of books I read and what a book it was.

    The hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien:
    This is an adventure book that takes us on a journey through a mythical land with a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins. The book begins when Bilbo is forced to leave his warm cosy life for an adventure with a band of dwarves and a wizard. Along the way they will come across: goblins, orks, skin changers, man eating spiders, dragons, wargs and magic rings. I chose this book as I had heard about how amazing it was and I am still astounded by how J.R.R. Tolkien created a whole new world, new creatures and even an entirely new language.

  12. Book 1
    The School For Good And Evil.
    The first book is about two best friends : Sophie and Agatha. Everyone knows about the Master. They have worked that he one good person and evil person. They have seen the children taken transformed in the fairytale books.
    Sophie really wants to be taken to become a princess. Agatha ignores Sophie's decisions and is frightened of the Master like everyone else. She acts mean but inside she will not let anything in the way of their friendship. Sophie is really pretty and really nice but is using Agatha as a good deed as no one else likes her.
    Sophie is hoping the master will see this and take her as the good person this year. She is expecting Agatha to be taken as the evil person and so they can both be together. She finds it hard to explain this to Agatha as Agatha really cares about Sophie and is hurt.
    The Master kidnaps Sophie and Agatha rushes out to save her. Sophie wants to be taken and is angry. Agatha grabs onto her and is transported with Sophie to the School. Sophie ends up in evil and Agatha ends up in good. Sophie sees Tedros[King Arthur's son] and falls in love.He too is charmed.Agatha soon finds she can grant wishes for people.
    Agatha learns that the School Master and his brother were at war and that one of them died in the process, and the dying brother enchanted the Storian, a magical pen, to keep the Woods in balance.Knowing only true love's kiss will end a story, Agatha helps Sophie charm Tedros, the son of King Arthur, into asking her to the Ever Ball by disguising herself as a cockroach and helping Sophie through her classes so she ranks #1. This eventually backfires when Tedros discovers what is going on at the Trial by Tale. Agatha protects Tedros when he is to die. Tedros falls in love with Agatha. Sophie then takes revenge on Tedros and Agatha, who is to be Sophie's Nemesis that she must destroy.The School Master hurls the Storian, meaning to kill Agatha, but Sophie is speared instead and dies. Agatha kisses Sophie, bringing her back to life. Agatha chooses her ending with her best friend/nemesis instead of her soon discovered prince, Tedros, and she and Sophie both return home.

    I like this because it is really dramatic and every twist makes me squirm and this book was a craving at night for me. Sophie and Agatha have to struggle for friendship when their whole life been twisted out of shape and they discover some very important things to know for life. I love the fact it gives out an evident message: to never judge a book by it's cover. I have read the other two books in the trilogy and recommend all three for mature readers who like fantasy stories.

  13. My three books are: Young Sherlock Holmes DEATH CLOUD, South by south east (DIAMOND BROTHERS) and A boy in the girls bathroom.

    The plot:
    Sherlock Holmes: The plot of Sherlock Holmes was to find the killer of two men. Through the book Sherlock gradually found out that both victims were killed by the same things, bees. However, the question was, who sent the bees to kill them? After having researched in London with his tutor, Amyus Crowe, he figured out that they both worked for the same Baron, Baron Maupertuis. Sherlock tracked the man down and stopped all of his plans.

    South by South East: This story was about two brothers, Nick & Tim. Tim worked as a private investigator but didn't have much money. Nick would help Tim with certain investigations. They met a man who was in trouble and just before he was killed he said something but they didn't here his properly. They thought it was South by south East. Through the book they investigated about the murder and finally found the killer. (in this series Tim is quite dumb).

    A boy in the girls' bathroom: This is about a boy named Bradley whose personality was not very liked around other people. The teachers and children did not like him and that was what he was used to. A new boy came though. He did not know what Bradley was like so he decided to be friends with him. During this time Bradley's mum signed a slip so he would meet a Councillor. He did and the Councillor had changed the way he was and at the end she was transferred because some parents (not Bradley's) were complaining. Bradley couldn't bare it until he figured out that he could think for himself. It is a pretty amazing story.

  14. 1) I enjoyed The Hunger Games (book 1 by Suzanne Collins)because it was full of action and adventure. It was descriptive and addictive and it was probably one of the best books that I have read. I would recommend this book to people who love action and adventure, and people who love descriptive books.

    2)I enjoyed Grandpa's Great Escape(by David Walliams)because it was hilarious and once I read the first page, I couldn't stop reading it. It is full of humour, packed with description and it has an interesting storyline. I would recommend this book to everyone because it suits everyone's taste in books and it includes every genre.

    3)I enjoyed Polly Price's Secret Diary On Stage In America( by Dee Shulman) because it gave many thoughts and opinions, also it had a lot of humour which I what mainly hooked me in. There is a lot of detail and the book may teach you meanings of new words. I would recommend this book to girls age 7-12 who like interesting funny books.

  15. The 3 of the books I have chosen are my favourite.
    1. Matilda by Roald Dahl.
    This book is about a girl who can read books when she is really young. She goes to a school called Crunchem Halls. The head master is Miss Trunchbull and Matilda's teacher is Miss Honey. She is the most intelligent person in class and her parents are mean to her. At the end her parents agree for Miss Honey to adopt her.
    I would reccomend this to people who like comedy.

    2. The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C.S Lewis
    This is when 4 siblings accidently discover a magical wardrobe while playing hide and seek. At the end there is a war and Narnia win against the witch. Due to this, the lion Aslan makes them kings and queens.
    I would reccomen this to people who like suspense.

    3. Horrid Henry and the tooth fairy by Fransesca Simon
    This book is about Henry's brother Peter losing a tooth and getting money. Henry gets jealous and tries to take out his tooth, but ti just wouldn't come out so he gets black card and sticks it on his tooth...
    I would recommend this to people who like comedy.

  16. Book 2
    Groosham Grange

Priest joined the carriage and inquired where he was going.He answered. He subsequently fainted. He was suspicious. Arrive to school in boat with pirate-like driver and zombie-like caretaker. He was forced to sign his name in blood.After several attempts to escape he found out the school taught magic and the teachers were monsters. On his 13th birthday he was given the option to either die or be initiated as a wizard. He chose not to die and was initiated.

  17. Tom Sawyer

    The reason i liked this book is because it is all about adventure friendships and comedy. In my opinion this was easily the best book I ever read because of all the tragedies and mysteries occurring in this story, it intrigued me and made me want to read on.

    The Wind In The Willows

    This book was also another classic and was written for people for people who love nature and adventure. When I read this, I wanted to know what would happen next as the mysteries and confusion inspired in this story to read more classics such as this one.

    Alice In Wonderland & Through The Looking Glass

    This book had made me laugh my socks off with its comedy and the unnecessary discussions they use. In my opinion, this book was written for laughs and hilarious comedy and not for a plot, however I may be wrong because in the next part of the book: Through The Looking Glass, the story is based on like a chess board where Alice meets knights and bishops etc. However, the main reason I chose this book is because of its comedy. This book is hilarious!You must read it!

  18. Diary of the Wimpy kid: Old School

    I enjoyed this very humorous book because the plot was great. Greg goes on on trip from school to a place called Hardscrabble farms. There is a rumour about a undead farmer who goes by the name of Silas Scratch. When Greg's father comes on the troop as chaperone, he finds out that his father made a cabin in the forest and made the infamous tale of Silas Scratch so he could have the cabin all to himself.

    Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian

    This book was a great ending to the brilliant series of Percy Jackson. This book also had a great storyline. The evil Titan Kronos is creating an army of the most powerful monsters and Titans to attack Olympus and the father of monsters - Typhon - is a part of Kronos's team. Percy has to fight to save the world from total annihilation. He succeeds with the help of his friends.

    Young Samurai: The Ring Of Earth

    This action-packed book is full of fun and fighting. Jack has to find how to get out of Japan without getting himself killed. He ends up in a camp full of ninjas - the enemy of the samurai. They teach him tricks and shinobi ( the way of the ninja ) while he is there. The evil leader comes to fight but is defeated. He then retreats. Jack receives a letter from his sister in England. Josie helps get everyone off without her manager's permission. Stanley Arnold calls and sorts out her manager. Parents come back. The president gives them VERY big check for saving the bridge. They go home and live happily ever after.

    I chose this book because it's a really nice short story and sometimes people think shorts are boring but this proves them wrong.

  20. The Fault In Our Stars:

    TFIOS is about a girl named Hazel Grace Lancaster, who has cancer. Early on in the book, Hazel starts to go to a Cancer Support Group, because her mother decided she was depressed:
    'Late in the winter of my seventeenth year, my mother decided I was depressed.' 'But my mum believed I needed treatment, so she took me to see my Regular Doctor Jim who agreed that...' '...also I should attend a weekly support group.'
    Hazel meets a boy called Augustus Waters ('His mum and dad called him Gus.') and falls in love with him, slowly but surely. Augustus's best friend is called Isaac, and he is blind. He previously dated a girl called Monica, who broke up with him because she 'could not handle him being blind' - their little saying was 'Always', and Augustus and Hazel's saying became 'Okay'. I don't want to spoil the little details, but Gus dies near the end of the book.
    ~~~~
    I chose this book because when I read it, I experienced quite a lot of emotion - I felt like laughing, like crying, like throwing the book at the wall (mainly at the Monica breaking up with Isaac because what does she mean she can't handle it? Hazel somewhat explains, saying that she doesn't need to handle it, so she doesn't, but I'm still extremely annoyed) but I always wanted to continue. It is a touching book, and definitely in my top 5. It explores the issues of cancer, and is probably a teenager to young-adult fiction.
    Four:
    Four is the prequel to the Divergent series. Although I adore the series of Divergent, I feel like Four's story is a a lot more precious.
    The story Four is about a sixteen year old boy, called Tobias in the faction Abnegation. It starts when he is having his Aptitude test:
    'I emerge from the simulation with a yell.' 'The Dauntless woman administering my aptitude test..' He gets Abnegation, but is upset about his result.
    'I nod, but the word 'Abnegation' feels like a noose wrapped around my throat.'
    He was abused by his father, Marcus, the head of the government (Which is ran by Abnegation). However, he does not show it in fear of being hurt more, and is rarely seen outside of his small, grey, textbook Abnegation house. When he chooses his faction, he chooses Dauntless and at the end, gets first in the rankings, his enemy Eric left at 2nd place. He refuses to be a Dauntless leader, mainly because he doesn't want to see his father again. Previously, he learned that he had the least amount of fears..ever. Four fears, and so his nickname became Four.
    ~~~
    I chose this book because I feel connected to the characters, and feel strong emotions for them - A deep loath for the lying, abusive Marcus, and the rough, previously Erudite Eric. However, I feel a small amount of pity for Four, but it gets better as he becomes more confident to be him. This book explores the issues of society and abuse. This is probably a sci fi with a very tiny amount of violence (well, actually quite a lot).

  21. The Book Thief
    ---
    The Book Thief is set in WW2, Germany, and is about a girl called Liesel Meminger. It is from the perspective of 'Death', and although it says 'I saw the Book Thief three times', the book shows Liesel and her life.
    In the introduction, Death shows us a short list of what the book is about: A girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist fighter, and quite a lot of thievery.'
    Liesel meets a boy called Rudy, who, throughout the book, is determined to kiss Liesel. (Spoiler, Rudy dies and Liesel tries to wake him up by kissing him. She had fallen in love with him at that point, and regrets her choices).
    In Liesel's house, they hide a Jewish boy called Max in their basement, because of a promise Liesel's papa made quite a few years ago.
    When Liesel sent the laundrey to the Mayor's house, she met her wife, who she became friends with and would visit her library. Much later, Liesel would start to steal those books, occasionally with Rudy.
    ---
    I adore this book because, even though it is not a real WW2 story like Anne Frank's story, it could be because of the vivid writing and description. Markus Zusak had an unique idea to write as Death, a not-so-cold invisible figure who carries bodies along with them - given the impossible task after the concentration camps. This is a teenager to young adult historical fiction, and explores the issuses of World War Two in such a way that you will be drawn in and, quite possibly, never come out.

  24. Book number 1: Fortunately, The Milk.
    This story is about a family who have run out of milk. So the dad went out to buy some from a shop. It took him so long. His children asked why he took so long. He told them the wildest story ever. I chose this book because I read it in year 4(I think) and it was funny, so I read it again. I would recommend it to anyone over 4 and loves funny books.

    Book number 2: Middle School: Just My Rotten Luck
    This book is about a boy named Rafe who is in middle school. He is very unlucky and he is the most unpopular boy in the school. He used to be in H.V.M.S( Hills Village Middle School). But when he came back he was in a group called learning skills. I enjoyed it because it's funny and interesting. I would recommend it to people over 9.

    Book number 3:Granpa's Great Escape
    This book is about a boy's grandpa who used to be in the RAF. He still thinks he's in the army for a strange reason. So he is sent to an evil, elderly care place. His grandson, Jack, helps him to escape. I liked this book because it is adventurous. I would recommend this to children over 7 and like adventure.

  25. 1) Blood Fever - Charlie Higson
    This jam-packed book is perfect for reading under the covers past your bedtime. James Bond is constantly getting into trouble, but he realises that he will soon have to pay the ultimate price for all the chaos he has stirred up - give in to the evil mastermind, have his loved one unharmed but not save the world or don't give in, save the world - but let his loved one die. This story grabs the reader by the throat, and has a page-turning plot which you have to see resolved.

    2) A.N.T.I.D.O.T.E - Malorie Blackman
    Who hates it when your mum calls you something embarrassing in front of your friends? Well, that is exactly what Elliot has to go through EVERY day. And he wishes his mum could be more – special. As far as he's concerned, his mum is an ordinary secretary, but it turns out there is a lot more to her than meets the eye. Full of mystery, thrill and sudden twists, this brilliant book would be a full enjoyment for young readers.

    3) George's secret key to the universe - Stephen Hawking
    Even though this excellent book is written by Stephen and Lucy Hawking, it is a fiction book. Who said a book about science written by a famous scientist couldn't be fiction? The book will take you through galaxy, onto undiscovered planets, and to a street with two houses which are complete opposites in every way.

    The only problem with all three books I have chosen is once you pick them up, you can't put them down.

    By: Anthony Horowitz
    This book explores mystery and murder.
    The issue is when people on the island start dying and Tim and Nick (the main characters) need to stop it.

    This is one of the Diamond Brothers books which I have read ever since year 2 when my I found this in the book corner. It comes on its own or part of Three of
    Diamonds or Four of Diamonds. The story starts when Herbert (Tim) receives a letter from Rory McDougal (One of Tim's old schoolfriends) that says it wants Tim to come
    to Scotland for a school reunion. There are others there: Eric Draper, Sylvie Binns, Janet Rhodes, Mark Tyler, Brenda Blake and Libby Goldman. When everyone arrives
    Rory McDougal had been killed. After more deaths Nick, (Tim's younger brother) sees a skull which Brenda sees too. Finally everyone is suspected dead dead..... but
    Nick and Tim.Nick realises that these deaths are all connected.

    There is a picture in a hallway and everyone in the picture is here but Johnny Nadler..... Suspicious!!

    Below is a list of how people died. The person, the subject hey came first in, then the way the were killed.
    Rory McDougal: Maths: Divided in pieces; Sylvie: Chemistry: Poisoned; Janet: French: Killed with Eiffel Tower; Libby: Geography: Globe was hit on her head; Brenda: Music: Killed by organ; Mark: Sport: Killed with javelin.

    Tim thinks that Mark is the killer. But he is wrong. Captain Randle comes and is just about to kill Nick when Eric Draper hits him on the head with a blunderbuss. He reveals Randle is an anagram of Nadler. And his boat is called the Silver Medal because he never came first. Tim, Nick and Eric get back to the mainland and no one really knows what happened to Nadler. What an adventure!

    I chose this because the reviews were really good and it said "Highly Addictive Content" on the back. Well, it was certainly right.

  30. Rugby Spirit

    By: Gerrard Siggins
    This book explores how to find out the truth and rugby.
    This explores how to win and be a team in testing situations. It also explores what it is like to have an injury and the slow journey to recovery.

    Eoin's not sure if it will be easy! He has just started a new school..... and a new sport. Everyone here is mad about rugby, but Eoin has never hed a rugby ball before. With new rules to learn, new friends to make and new teachers to get a handle on he really doesn't need to have Richie Duffy, the resident bully picking him out as his latest target! And who is this guy Brian who looks so out of date but gives great rugby advice.

    Eoin starts with 13c's, the lowest and after one performance is promoted straight to 13b, who are slightly bettter. A great performance means he's up to 13a, the best team but performs dreadfully. After settling in 13a have a chance to win the cup. They take a trip to the Aviva stadium where he meets Brian,who gives great advice. In the quarter final Eoin punctures his ribs and is in care. After going to hospital he misses the train home and goes to the nearby stadium he meets Brian again. More advice from him helps him spiritually.

    When the day of the final comes, Eoin plays and his side win. He learns the full truth about his grandfather, a great player. While grandad was playing, a bough of a tree fell and hit his wife, who died and grandad gave up rugby. Richie isn't so much of a bully at the end, though.

    I like this because it shows how tough it is to be in rugby, as I have done myself. It shows something may be hard but it will prove to be rewarding.

  31. George's Secret key to the Universe

    By: Lucy and Stephen Hawking
    This explores science and a supercomputer. It also has an issue when a schoolteacher steals a computer and the hero tries to get it back and does.

    One day George goes to follow his pig who goes next door.This is a forbidden place to his family. His parents are old fashioned and don't have a car, the hand make juice and worst of all, they don't have a computer. And when Goerge finds Freddy (his pig) he thinks hat he is being poisoned but it's Ribena. He meets Annie, a small girl and Eric, her father. He owns a supercomputer that can take them to space. It's supposed to be kept a secret but manages totell his class teacher about Cosmos,who is the supercomputer.
    On a rainy day he is chased home and when he is stuck outside Annie door a person in a pink spacesuit, Annie, scares them off. She said" I will give you the alien disease and you will only be able to eat cabbage." She pulls George into space and when they get back George and Annie are scolded. George is banned from Eric's house. This was until Annie sneaks over to George's house for Halloween. The next day George runs to Eric's house and Eric realises that George and they make up.

    The teacher' Greeper pays bullies to steal Cosmos. Eric and Greeper had worked together until Greeper got burned and then changed and became Eric's enemy. Ringo, the bully, and his gang steal Cosmos. But, just before this, Eric uses the portal and is stuck in a black hole in space. Annie and George sneak out of school and rescue Cosmos and also for that matter, Eric. This book is filled to the brim with fact about atoms, radiation and all sorts of scientific matters and even Halley's comet.Anyway, George changes his speech to one about Cosmos. He does brilliantly and wins the competition. Do you know what first prize was, a computer!!!!

    I like these books because they remind of funny jokes, especially the Diamond Brothers' ones and Rugby Spirit. I like George in another way because there are tight moments and it's full of humorous suspense aprtly with Cosmos.

  32. One of my favorite books that I've read is James and the giant peach.
    This book was written by Roald Dahl and illustrated by Quentin Blake.
    I chose this book because it's got humor and tensing moments. Ever since I've read this book I felt so attached and interested that as I read on the story got more and more fascinating after each chapter.

    The story is about a 7 year-old boy called James Henry Trotter who had to live with his evil aunts (aunt Sponge and aunt Spiker) when his parents died after being stampeded by a angry rhinoceros. But one day while he was working hard, a old man appeared in the backyard and offered some magic green object which look like beans but aren't. As he runs to the house he trips over and the objects borrow themselves into the soil. A near by barren peach tree suddenly grows a massive peach on the top branch....

    This book is written by Charlie Higson. I like this book because it is full of action and you can never tell what's going to happen next. This book has three parts. When a storm hits Mexico, James will have to risk never seeing his auntie again.

    Diary of wimpy kid: Hard luck

    I like this book because it by one of my favorite authors, Jeff Kinney. I like it because the pictures make it seem more real. This book could be the funniest book I’ve ever read. This book follows the life of a pre –teenage boy. I would rate this book 9 out of 10.

    Running Wild

    I like this book because it has a message that shows that when life knocks you down, you have to be resilient. I would definitely recommend this book to people who like gripping novels. In this book, Will (7 year old boy) bonds with an elephant and they become best friends after the elephant saves Will's life.

  36. My book: Antidote by Malorie Blackman
    Why I enjoyed it
    I enjoyed the book because the whole story was a mystery for the characters and reader to solve. There were times where the characters that were meant to be friends were actually enemies; making it MORE interesting. I also liked the book because on the front of the book it said “What if you had to crack a code to save a life.”
    Who I would recommend it to and why
    I would recommend this book to people who like mystery stories that have a twist because the book includes people turning against their friends.
    What themes and issues the book explored
    The book started off with two companies constantly arguing about what should be done to help the environment. This then led to Elliot’s mum being accused of theft. When Elliot tries to help he has to overcome different problems. The story is a mixture between theft and mystery.
    Why I chose the book
    I have chosen this book because it was exciting read with extraordinary incidents taking place for example: Shelby has got one of his employees to spy on ANDITODE. There was also lots of events that happened which I didn't expect to happen so suddenly like when The Smiler followed Elliot and Nosh.

    My book: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
    Why I enjoyed it
    I enjoyed the book because I learnt what it was like to live in America in the late 1860’s as a family of six. The book also taught me what it would be like to live without your father because he’s in a war.
    Who I would recommend it to and why
    I would recommend this book to people who like drama, friendship and romance books; which this story has a lot of. This book would also be good for people who like American classic books.
    What themes and issues the book explored
    There are a few arguments between siblings throughout the story causing the book to be to be even more interesting. Jo is expected to get married but she doesn't want to. When Jo finds out that Meg is soon going to get married she losses her respect for her older sister (Meg).
    Why I chose the book
    I chose the book because everyone is determined to finish what they are doing. Beth says “I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.” This shows that she wants to be an excellent piano player. The book also inspired me be to do well at EVERYTHING I do (like the characters in the book).

    My book: Ink Heart by Cornella Funke
    Why I enjoyed it
    I enjoyed the book because one of the main characters could read characters out of book just by reading aloud. He can make good and bad people come out of books which is where the disasters start.
    Who I would recommend it to and why
    I would recommend this book to people who like stories about family secrets that could be dangerous.
    What themes and issues the book explored
    The special book started off in safe hands but it kept getting stolen after all the copies where in the wrong hands. This book is a fantasy book with some trolls, fairies and other strange creatures. The story also involves lots of secrets.
    Why I chose the book
    I chose the book because the story tells you how important books are. It shows you this by having two groups of characters wanting a certain book. They both want it for different reasons; respectable and wicked.

  38. Skulduggery Pleasant: Death Bringer by Derek Landy

    About two weeks ago, I finished reading this book.It was fantastic because at one moment I thought Skulduggery would be able to solve the problem easily but it wasn't that simple.He had to think of a plan that wouldn't end up making another problem.It just makes you think like you're there and it's up to you to think of a plan.

    The Diamond Brothers: Public Enemy Number Two by Anthony Horowitz

    This book is the kind of book where it's not the main character's fault that he/she gets into trouble.The main character (Nick) finds a diamond in his pocket and the guards protecting the diamond thought he stole it.Because of all that he ends up being public enemy number two.

    Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: Old School by Jeff Kinney

    I liked reading this book because there were a lot of funny moments and Greg goes on a camping trip.But he didn't want to go he went because he did something at home that would have got his dad angry.He thought that if he went his dad would forget the whole thing but on my point of view I would regret that decision.
